Dana S. Danforth, 62, 325 W. LeClaire, Eldridge, Iowa, formerly of Onarga, died at 1:15 a. m. Saturday, 28 Sep 1985, at Mercy Hospital, Davenport, Iowa. He was born May 3, 1923 at Onarge to Ray and Ida Burson Danforth. He married Shirley Harris on June 30, 1956, at Onarge, and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Lisa Danforth, at home; two sons, Jeff of St. Louis, MO, and Mark of Hattiesburg, MS; and two sisters, Mardell Kirche, Belvidere, and Bernice Pankimin, Capron. Mr. Danforth served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a pilot. He was a member of the American Legion Post 639 at Eldridge, Iowa. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Onarga Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Knapp Funeral Home, Onarga. The family suggests memorials be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or to Faith Luthern Church, Eldridge, Iowa.
